While absolutely NOTHING like the delicious book Under the Tuscan Sun, the movie “version” is full of gorgeous scenery, sunshine and ITALIANS. If you could pause a film and climb into the screen, I’d pick the moment she’s in Positano because um, right.
I love a huge bistro burger as much as the next gal, but slicing potatoes into fry shapes and baking them at 400 with a little olive oil and salt and pepper while a burger fries on the stove before getting topped with a gorgeous summer tomato and creamy avocado? Not too shabby.
The morning light arrives early. Sprinklers water grass and get the sidewalks wet enough so that my pup’s paws leave prints as she trots down the sidewalk. An air conditioning unit buzzes. A cool breeze blows. Geraniums tumble out of terra cotta pots and the hydrangea heads are as big as dinner plates. I focus […]
While French people are probably rolling their eyes and/or over in their graves, these little pink cans of sparkling wine are the PERFECT thing to take to beach picnics, vineyard picnics, movie nights in the park or, you know, just your couch on a random Tuesday night while watching Amy Schumer.
It has been heating up around our fair city. Warm summer days make me think of the south and what better way to spend some time in Georgia then with these ladies? Food, friendship and the most … interesting use of car insurance ever.

There are some nights during the summer…scratch that…most nights during the summer, the thought of standing over a stove or turning on the oven so it matches the heat outside…just no. No no no, no. I CAN manage a few minutes in the kitchen however. Just long enough to toast a piece of good bread, […]
Three ways to be a perfect house guest: 1. Keep your friends for decades so they understand and accept fully how lazy you are. 2. Move quickly from one air conditioned perch to the next. 3. Sing and laugh your ass off. I spent a long 4th of July weekend up in Seattle with some […]
I have these ideas about summer. They tend to look just like the cover of Sunset Magazine. Gorgeously lit, cute Airstream or teardrop trailer being pulled by a vintage car and bicycles with baskets and bells. Oh and a beach cottage. There is ALWAYS a beach cottage. The reality is, the light isn’t gorgeous until so late […]
